I have been wanting to get our family pictures taken and I built all our outfits around a cute robot sweater- vest I bought for Clyde at Old Navy and of course it is the one thing I could not find when picture time came. Beside that minor setback the pictures turned out fantastic. Ruth thank you so much!

You are correct! Since a few of you answered it correctly I thought instead of giving everyone who got it right a prize we will continue this game. The first person to get 10 right answers wins. Clara after taking two huge bites of her favorite peppermint ice cream looks up at me with a distressed face and says "this ice cream is making my haircut hurt"( I just trimmed her bangs yesterday)

The simplicity of Steve

 This is an actual conversation I had with Steve while we were driving.

me: If you could have any special powers what would you want?

Steve: I don't know

me: Like the ability to read minds, x-ray vision, super-human strength, become invisible, to be able to fly.

            ( Steve looking like he is pondering my question)

Steve: what would you want?

me: probably to be able to read minds or super human strength.

Steve: I think I would like the ability to just keep going to be able to get a lot done and not get tired.

me: Okay, like crazy endurance without the need to sleep?

Steve: yeah, I guess

me: but you love to sleep you would hate that!

Steve: Okay, I would  still sleep at night but not get tired during the day.

me: Are you serious? Out of all the super-human powers you could chose from you would those the ability to not have to take a nap during the day?

Steve YES!

me: Thats stupid!

Steve: Well, stupid questions will produce stupid answers.

Change is not always good!

Many people have been taken by Obama and his eloquent speech and declaration of change, but I can not stomach what his change entails, McCain may not be my ideal president, But he is by far the lesser of two evils. Read this-   indifferent to the death of the unborn (Witherspoon Institute)

 Obama has promised that "The first thing I'd do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act" creating the guaranteed "fundamental right" to abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. He also opposed the ban on partial birth abortions. If you know anything about partial-birth abortions and the disgusting, horrific act it is and to know Obama supports it says what kind of a person he is. He also opposed legislation to protect babies who are born alive after an unsuccessful attempt to abort the child. He would rather they be put on a shelf to die than give them medical help. Knowing these things you realize Obama is favoring what is literally a form of infanticide. I am sorry but the idea of these innocent babies being harmed so "young woman aren't punished" makes me sad, that this is becoming acceptable in our society. A baby is never a punishment only a blessing. And a woman should never feel like she has no choice she always has the choice to engage in sex or not to(unless in instances of rape or incest) and the choice to place the baby in adoption or raise the baby. Abortion cannot be acceptable and do not let the world convince you other wise.

The Quirks of our Lives

So Colt tagged me awhile back and though I have loved reading everyones quirks I have felt a little apprehensive about divulging mine. Since I tagged Colt and he complied. Fair is fair.

Quirk 1-  I am not sure how to explain this I am scared of knives you know when someone is cutting food and they are talking and then in conversation they kind of just hold the knife and its pointing at you. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable and if I can I leave the room, if its Steve I ask him to kindly put the knife down.

Quirk 2- I can not sleep next to a nightstand I just envision rolling over and hitting the bridge of my nose on it. If I have to I put a pillow over it.

Quirk 3- This may be a weird on but I like to push my nose down so I can smell my face lotion I guess I do it a lot because June has started doing it too. (my nose does not seem to have much cartilage in it so this is possible)

Quirk 4- The first thing I do every morning is go into every room and open the blinds/curtains to let the daylight in. I'm always perplexed when people have theirs closed during the day, and it reminds me of my childhood and my days of living in a lightless dungeon (julie will know what I am talking about).    

Quirk 5- I love to count. I love to count in number patterns. I love to count change(money), train cars, palm trees, my steps when I walk, anything I can think of.

Quirk 6-  I love to make sound effects! I make them while I am driving, changing Clydes diaper, walking, going up stairs(and counting the stairs at the same time). These sound effects are anything from my car schreeching while I do a pretend peel-out in my car to bombs exploding as I run up stairs. The kids enjoy it but, I know it won't be enjoyable to them when they are teenagers and they have the Mom who picks them and their friends up from a church dance and does a pretend peel-out as we leave the church parking lot.

Ten years ago I was....

1. 19 years old

5. screened all my phone calls (along with my sister Julie) We had issues and just could not tell boys we did not like them. It was funny they would continue to call for months (see Julies blog)

at the time we didn't know what kind of damaging affects this was creating. Until our younger brother Danny got older and had a complex about calling girls and was positive that when he was told they were not home they indeed were home and only screening their phone calls. Danny on behalf of Julie and I "we are sorry!"

to tell you the truth I really do not snack much. I eat at meal times and not too often in between. If I am to snack this is what I like.

I got reacquainted with an old friend yesterday. My sewing machine. I decided I was going to make curtains for the kids playroom and as I got out my sewing machine I saw a blanket I had started to make before Clara was born. Yes, its been that long. So after the initial awkwardness of threading the bobbin I was good to go. 

Here is my finished baby blanket for my 3  yearold.  Steve is not sure if he likes the pink fabric. Feel free to tell me what you think of the curtains.

Build-A-Bear for Junes Birthday!

June in September

Sometimes I look at pictures of June the ones of her before Clara and Clyde were born and I almost feel homesick. Don't get me wrong I love C&C its just life was so simple then. I miss the carefree days of just Me, June and Steve. I miss my June baby. 

 So this has been a busy month for June. She lost her first tooth. the day before her first day of school. June was so excited for the Tooth Fairy. Also you get to see what i have to brush in the mornings June gets the craziest bedhair. June Turned 5 years old on the 12th of this month. She has been begging me to take her to Build-A-Bear workshop. So for her Birthday thats where we went. I will post that blog tomorrow. 

 I want to tell you a little bit about June. She loves to say HI to everyone and does. June makes everyone feel welcome she loves visitors and will either invite you to her house or ask if she can come to your house and make cookies (one of her faves) She has had a crush on Kenny Brady for I think at least the past 2 1/2 years. Her cousin Dean she says is her bestfriend and when you see them together you can see why. June is a tomboy who also likes her toenails painted. She is the best of both worlds. She is my Junebug, Juniper, Junie B. Jones, Junah, Juno, June-June. No matter what her nickname is she will always be my first baby love.

Party at the Plunge part 1

While those that attended Clyde and Sheldons B-Day party will enjoy looking at these pictures I have to warn those that did not come that it may evoke strong emotions of jealousy. The food was delicious thanks to Rodney and La Finestra catering. Kathryn Demke was a good sport about me harassing her taking lots of pictures. (I love seeing pregnant women in bathing suits.) We honestly had so much fun from doing flips off the diving board to the cutest couple award (of course Jill and Kenny won again) I can honestly say it was the most fun I have ever had at a childs B-day party and I would like to thank everyone who came and participated in our fun, Susie my co-planner, Ruth for making a good kid friendly playlist, Jon and Kristyn for bringing ice, Steve for food prep and all you do, Rodney for never ceasing to wow me with your meat dishes you prepare while you being a vegetarian and therefore never knowing what your food tastes like. You are a man of many talents. And last but not least Sheldon and Clyde for coming into this world on the same day so we could have a big joint birthday party. Heres to turning one!

Party at the Plunge part 2

If you did not already know Clyde and Sheldon Demke were born on the same day. The first time they met Susie and I discussed how we should have a joint birthday party when they turn one. I had this idea about renting out the plunge pool. I called Susie and she thought it was a good idea. The rest is history.

Cute Cowboy

I want to tell everyone a little bit about Clyde he was born 8-08-07 and he weighed 8lbs 8oz. He came a year too early. Yes he was a surprise and I cried for a week or two when I found out I was pregnant and three months pregnant to be exact. At my first doctors appointment he said congrats you are pregnant and you are already done with your first trimester. I love my little boy and whenever Steve sees me lovin on my little Clyde he says "Dont you feel stupid that you cried when you found out you were pregnant with him?" And I always answer "YES!" He just turned 1 and he has made me smile everyday since 8-08-07. I love my Cowboy!  

She is three and no longer free!

Clara turned three and for her Birthday she wanted a minnie mouse B-Day. So we bought some Minnie balloons and cake plates and she was happy. Kristyn bought her the cutest Minnie dress and she wears it everyday. The thing about Clara turning three is now she is recognized by Disneyland as a person who must pay to get in. And thats not all we have to pay for her every place we go now like the movies, waterparks, soupplantation (its still only $1.49) she is now economically making more of an impact. She is worth it we love her! the last two pics are Clara on her 2nd and 1st Birthday.
